Terms of service
Last updated August 2026
By using BreachCompass you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Not legal advice
BreachCompass is decision support software for licensed attorneys and qualified privacy and security professionals. Its outputs, including obligation memos, letter drafts, filing packets, and deadline calendars, are generated from statutory rules for informational purposes only. They do not constitute legal advice and do not create an attorney client relationship. BreachCompass does not practice law and does not file anything on your behalf. Every output must be independently reviewed and approved by a qualified professional before it is used or relied upon.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of any output against the current law and for the decisions you make. You agree to use the service lawfully and not to misuse or attempt to disrupt it.
No warranty
The service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. We work hard to keep the legal content current and accurate, but we do not guarantee that it is complete, error free, or up to date at every moment. The law changes, and interpretation is a matter of professional judgment.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BreachCompass is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
