BreachCompass helps professionals work through data breach notification obligations. We take privacy seriously, which is the point of the product, so we keep our own data practices simple.

What we collect

When you fill out a form on this site, we receive what you type: your name, work email, role, company, and any note. Our hosting provider records standard technical logs such as IP address and browser type. If we have analytics enabled, it counts page views and general usage in aggregate.

What the calculator does not collect

The deadline calculator runs entirely in your browser. The incident facts you enter, and any spreadsheet you tally, never leave your device and are never sent to us. We do not receive or store the personal information of affected individuals.

How we use it

We use the information you submit only to contact you about BreachCompass, set up and support your account, and improve the product. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers that run the site, such as our hosting provider and our email provider, and only so they can deliver the service. We may disclose information if required by law.

Retention and your choices

We keep what you submit until you ask us to remove it. You can request a copy of your information or ask us to delete it at any time by emailing us. We will honor that request.
